Frequently asked questions
Is my file uploaded?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser. The file never leaves your device – there is no server that could see it. Once the page has loaded, the tool even works offline.
PNG or JPG?
PNG is lossless and the right choice for stills you want to edit or for graphics with text. JPG is much smaller and fine for photos and thumbnails; we save it at high quality.
Why is the frame black?
Many videos fade in from black, so the first frame is dark. Enter a time a little further in, for example 0:02.
Is there a size limit?
Files up to 300 MB are accepted, and a job is stopped after ten minutes. The whole file has to fit into the browser's memory, so clips of a few minutes work best. If processing stops, trim the clip first or lower the resolution.
