Make a colour transparent
Turns one colour – white by default – into transparency, with a tolerance for JPG noise.
Runs in your browser – your file is never uploaded
Frequently asked questions
Is my file uploaded?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser. The file never leaves your device – there is no server that could see it. Once the page has loaded, the tool even works offline.
Does this remove the background from photos?
Only if the background is one flat colour, such as a white product shot or a logo on white. A photo background with shadows, gradients or different colours needs an AI background remover – that is a separate tool we are planning.
Why do white parts inside my logo disappear too?
The tool removes every pixel of that colour, wherever it is. It does not know which white is “background”. Lower the tolerance if the inner parts are slightly off-white, or fill them with another colour first.
Why is the result a PNG or WebP and not a JPG?
JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas would be filled. PNG and WebP keep them. If you need a JPG anyway, convert the result with the PNG to JPG converter – the transparent parts become white.
