Convert SVG to AI

Yes. This is one of the few tools that need our server, because the program behind it cannot run in a browser. The file travels encrypted, is processed in an isolated container without network access, and is deleted immediately after your download – at the latest after an hour. It is never stored, read or passed on.

Yes. Paths, curves and colours are converted one to one; nothing becomes pixels. Gradients, transparency and clipping survive as far as the target format supports them.

It is an honest one. Since Illustrator 9 the .ai format is a PDF container, so we export a real vector PDF and name it .ai – Illustrator opens and edits it normally, and so does any other program that reads PDF. What we do not do is rename an SVG and call it AI; that would not open at all.

Text stays text when the font is embedded or matches one of the server's fonts (Liberation, DejaVu, Noto). Otherwise the closest available font is substituted. For a guaranteed identical result, convert text to outlines before uploading.

Files up to 50 MB. Larger files are refused before anything is uploaded, so you do not waste time on a job that could not finish.
