Frequently asked questions
Is my file uploaded?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser. The file never leaves your device – there is no server that could see it. Once the page has loaded, the tool even works offline.
What do I get in text mode?
One SVG with a single <path> containing the outlines of your text and a viewBox that fits it tightly. Logos and headlines rendered this way look identical everywhere, without the font being installed. The text is no longer selectable or editable – that is the point of converting it.
What is the symbol sheet for?
Every character the font maps becomes a <symbol id="u0041"> (its Unicode code point in hex) with its own viewBox in font units, baseline at the ascender. Reference one with <use href="#u0041"/> – handy for icon fonts, whose private-use glyphs get ids such as uE001. The sheet is limited to 1000 glyphs; subset the font first if it has more.
Are ligatures and Arabic shaping applied?
No. Kerning pairs are applied, but each character is drawn with its own glyph; ligatures, contextual alternates and joining forms of complex scripts are not. For those, render the text in a browser or design tool and export from there.
