Decode Base64 to a file
Turns Base64 text or a data URL back into the original file.
Runs in your browser – your file is never uploaded
Frequently asked questions
Is my file uploaded?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser. The file never leaves your device – there is no server that could see it. Once the page has loaded, the tool even works offline.
What input does the decoder accept?
A text file containing Base64 – with or without line breaks, with or without the trailing “=” padding, in the standard or the URL-safe alphabet – or a complete data URL such as “data:image/png;base64,…”. Save the text as a .txt file and drop it here.
Which file do I get back?
We look at the decoded bytes, not at the label: a PNG signature gives you a .png, a PDF a .pdf, a font a .ttf or .woff2, readable UTF-8 a .txt. Unknown binary content is saved as .bin so you can rename it yourself.
Why does it say the text is not valid Base64?
The text contains characters outside A–Z, a–z, 0–9, + and / (or - and _). Common causes: surrounding quotes, a “data:” prefix without “;base64”, or a copy that stopped halfway. Copy the string again in full.
