No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser. The file never leaves your device – there is no server that could see it. Once the page has loaded, the tool even works offline.

That depends on the image. Photos as JPG or WebP typically shrink by 30–60 % at quality 80. PNG graphics with few colours often lose more than half through colour reduction. After processing, the list shows the exact saving per file.

Yes. A JPG stays a JPG, a PNG stays a PNG. If you want to switch formats, use one of the converters – JPG to WebP, for example, is usually the bigger win.

By default we remove all metadata, including GPS coordinates. If you want to keep it, switch on “Keep metadata (EXIF)”. The image orientation is applied correctly either way.
