Frequently asked questions

Is my file uploaded?

No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser. The file never leaves your device – there is no server that could see it. Once the page has loaded, the tool even works offline.

How do I choose the output size?

By default the image is as large as the SVG declares (width/height or viewBox). Choose “Width” or “Height” to set one side in pixels – the other follows the aspect ratio – or multiply the natural size with “Scale factor”. Because the source is vector, the result stays sharp at any size, up to 16 384 pixels per side.

Why is my file refused because of text?

The renderer runs in your browser without any fonts, so it cannot draw text. Rather than producing an image with the text silently missing, files containing <text> are refused. Convert text to paths in your editor first (Inkscape: Path → Object to Path; Illustrator: Type → Create Outlines) and try again.

What happens to transparent areas?

JPG has no transparency. Transparent areas are filled with the chosen background colour, white by default.

Are external images, fonts or style sheets loaded?

No. Scripts, event handlers, external images and style sheets are stripped before rendering – nothing is fetched from the internet. Images embedded as data URLs are rendered normally.
