Yes. This is one of the few tools that need our server, because the program behind it cannot run in a browser. The file travels encrypted, is processed in an isolated container without network access, and is deleted immediately after your download – at the latest after an hour. It is never stored, read or passed on.

It depends entirely on what is inside. A PDF full of photos often loses 60–90 % at the balanced setting. A PDF that is only text and vectors is already small – there the tool saves little, and it says so instead of pretending.

Yes. Text remains text and stays selectable and searchable; only images are recompressed and fonts reduced to the characters actually used.

Your job joins a queue and runs on a real machine. The page shows which step it is on – upload, queue, processing, download – and you can cancel at any time. Nothing runs in the background after you leave.

Files up to 50 MB. Larger files are refused before anything is uploaded, so you do not waste time on a job that could not finish.
