Frequently asked questions
Is my file uploaded?
Yes. This is one of the few tools that need our server, because the program behind it cannot run in a browser. The file travels encrypted, is processed in an isolated container without network access, and is deleted immediately after your download – at the latest after an hour. It is never stored, read or passed on.
How much smaller does it get?
Typically 50–80 % for material straight from a phone or camera. Downscaling to 1080p on top of that often halves it again. A clip that was already compressed hard will gain little – re-compressing only costs quality.
Why do I have to wait?
Your job joins a queue and runs on a real machine. The page shows which step it is on – upload, queue, processing, download – and you can cancel at any time. Nothing runs in the background after you leave.
