Frequently asked questions

Is my file uploaded?

No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser. The file never leaves your device – there is no server that could see it. Once the page has loaded, the tool even works offline.

Which metadata is removed by “Remove all”?

The document information (title, author, subject, keywords, creator, producer, dates) and the XMP metadata stream, where programs such as Acrobat or InDesign store the same data plus their own. It does not touch the page content: names in headers, comments or form fields stay.

My viewer still shows the old title – why?

It should not: when you change a field we also drop the XMP block, which some viewers prefer over the classic information fields and which would otherwise keep the old values. If a viewer still shows old data, it is caching the previous version of the file.

Are bookmarks, links and form fields kept?

Yes. The file is edited in place, so bookmarks, links, form fields and attachments stay exactly as they were.

What about password-protected PDFs?

They are not supported yet. Open the file in a PDF viewer, enter the password, save a copy without protection and use that copy here.
