Minify JSON
Removes all whitespace from JSON so it takes as little space as possible.
Runs in your browser – your file is never uploaded
Frequently asked questions
Is my file uploaded?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser. The file never leaves your device – there is no server that could see it. Once the page has loaded, the tool even works offline.
Why minify JSON at all?
Indentation and line breaks are only there for humans. Removing them makes API responses, config bundles and embedded data smaller – often by 20–40 % – without changing the content.
Does minifying change values?
Strings, keys and their order stay untouched. Numbers are written the way JavaScript writes them: 1.0 becomes 1 and 1e3 becomes 1000, which is the same value. Comments are not JSON and would be reported as an error.
Can I undo it?
Yes – drop the minified file into “Format JSON” and it is readable again. Nothing is lost by minifying.
